Family Information

Being a parent, family member or friend of a student who is working his/her way through the student conduct process can be challenging. Many questions are raised and it is sometimes difficult to understand what your role should be as they navigate through the process.

With this in mind, you are encouraged to review the THE STUDENT CONDUCT PROCESS: A GUIDE FOR PARENTS, a handout developed by the Association for Student Judicial Affairs. Within this guide, you will find answers to many of the questions you may have. Please keep in mind that the guide speaks to general practices on all college campuses. After reviewing the guide, you are also encouraged to read and review the Boise State University Student Code of Conduct for further clarification on our policies and procedures as they pertain to our student disciplinary process.

You can access the guide here: Parent Guide

If you still have questions, please feel free to contact the Director of the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities for any clarification. Please keep in mind that the specifics of any conduct cases being reviewed will not be discussed with you without a signed release of information by your student.
